Job analysis and mapping is the first step towards identifying suitable opportunities for persons with disability. It serves as a tool to make inclusive job description and helps employers make recruitment decisions by dividing each function of the job into – a) Essential Function – Fundamental /Critical to the job b) Marginal Functions – Relatively Incidental to the job. While an incumbent must be able to perform Essential Function under reasonably accommodating conditions, in an acceptable manner; Marginal Function may not need to be used as a basis for employment decisions

Job analysis is a process of systematically collecting, documenting and analyzing key facts about a job. V-shesh has over five years of experience in conducting job analysis for corporate bodies and premier educational institutions (IIMs). We can thus assist in initiating the process of diversifying your workforce by undertaking job analysis of various roles in your organization. This would typically involve the following steps

    • technology (software and hardware) used to perform the role effectively
  2. Shadowing of employee to get a better understanding of what a typical day for a person in the role is like
  3. Desk analysis to map jobs against various types of disability along with accommodation requirement
