P Rajasekharan (Raja) has a background in development sector and project finance. Prior to co-founding v-shesh, Raja was a Senior Regional Specialist with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (now JICA). He started his career with IDBI in Mumbai in 1995 as part of Business Development and Project Finance departments and worked on various new initiatives for IDBI. In January 1999, Raja joined OECF (that became JBIC and then JICA) where he was in charge of portfolio across sectors like Water & sanitation, power, transportation, private equity et al and was in-charge of disbursement management for investments in India, Bhutan and Nepal. Raja also represented OECF/ JBIC/ JICA’s interest at one of the earliest VC funds in India along with co-board/ investment committee members from senior-most positions in public and private sectors. Raja is also India Advisor to CorStone where he guides the American non-profit organisation in designing and roll-out of its unique livelihood programs focussed on adolescent girls from poor communities. Raja is a serious sports enthusiast and has travelled in 27 out of 35 states & UTs in India. Raja has an MS in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai and is an engineer from VJTI, Mumbai.
Shashaank Awasthi has a background in Commercial Banking. Shashaank started his career working with Tata group and IDBI Bank before joining ABN AMRO Bank India’s wholesale Bank. He was a member of the team that setup ABN AMRO’s Commercial Bank in India and built a substantial franchise expanding the Bank’s reach to locations like Tirupur and Panipat. As Regional Head of Commercial Banking, he had the opportunity to build ABN AMRO’s Commercial Bank in South India and lead the group for North and East India. Post ABN AMRO, Shashaank was involved with start-ups in financial services and media sectors. Shashaank is India adviser to Gray Ghost Ventures and sits on the board of Indian subsidiaries of 2 impact enterprises. He is also member of advisory board of Chennai based The British International School. Shashaank is an MBA from Mumbai and studied in Mumbai and Jaipur prior to that.
Suniti Kunar is the business development head in Chennai. She has prior experience in the leading hotels of India in the field of general administration, learning and development, executive and staff training, planning and managing operations. She has been working with v-shesh since 2015. She has been instrumental in conducting various training sessions in the corporate sector to teach life skills program for hearing impaired and organize sensitization programs for non- deaf employees.
Alafia has a degree in Arts from Bangalore. She trains deaf job seekers and assists employers that hire v-shesh trainees in the before and the after recruitment processes. Alafia has been a part of the team that developed the training plan and the content that v-shesh uses. Alafia has experience in working with persons across the disabilities spectrum. She has also helped in creating the sensitization plan for employers about working with PwD job seekers.
Ragavi is v-shesh’s first deaf employee. She started working as a trainee in April 2011. She has an exceptional academic record of having secured 100% in the subject of mathematics in secondary school. She has degrees in Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce. She is involved with counseling and training v-shesh’s deaf trainees and building relationship with similar organizations in the Deaf Community.
Metilda has a degree in Engneering from Chennai. She trains deaf candidates for a job based environment. She also teaches English to the students to enhance their communication skills. She has experience in volunteering in the St.louis school for visually impaired students. Simultaneously, she is volunteering with an NGO, Vazhai that strives to provide equal educational opportunities for the rural children.
Anupriya is a dynamic young B.com graduate from JBS college for women, Chennai. Out of interest, she picked up sign language after being trained. Later she joined v-shesh as trainer and interpreter in 2015. She has been teaching English and life-skills to deaf candidates & has helped job seekers with on the job skills training.
Smriti Chhabria is a graduate in commerce and worked with organisations like Satyam Computers and Multivista Communications before joining v-shesh. She is one of the earliest team members having joined v-shesh at the inception. She handled a range of responsibilities before becoming part of the training team at Chennai center. Smriti is proficient in sign language and works closely with our trainees as a counselor, trainer, interpreter and facilitator. She also support pre and post recruitment efforts at the employers that hire deaf job seekers.
Joseph Romel is a graduate in social work and has prior experience in projects like Tsunami support etc. Joseph had been working with students and was well regarded as a trainer for first time job seekers with disabilities. He was the first person in v-shesh to learn sign language and underwent a variety of experience right from counseling and training to engaging with clients and identifying areas where PwD can be employed. Joseph had been actively involved with sensitization programs and other employment services and projects executed for v-shesh’s clients.
Rashi Soman has been part of the core team that built our practice for Persons with Disabilities and actively manages important client and network relationships. Rashi is an MA (Economics) from Delhi School of Economics and followed that up with an MBA from Hyderabad based Indian School of Business. She has worked at American Express and was with NIIT’s Hole in the Wall project thereafter. She has also worked at grassroots having been involved with children from difficult backgrounds and as a consultant to Aman Biradari.
Neha Kulshreshtha has an M.Phil degree in Linguistics from the University of Delhi. She started her career in 2009 as a Language Support Officer for the deaf students enrolled in the Bachelors in Applied Sign Language Studies (BAASLS) programme in IGNOU. She was associated with this programme for six years where she progressed from Language Support officer to a lecturer, teaching and training deaf undergraduates in sign linguistics. At v-shesh, she works on English curriculum development for the various projects which aim at training deaf students. She also trains the trainers involved in these trainings.
Tabassum has done her Graduation (B.A) from Delhi University, Post Graduation (M.A) from M.S University and Diploma in Special Education from Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities, an autonomous body under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability. She has also done an Indian Sign Language course from Delhi University. She has 2 years of experience as an Office Coordinator in the H.R. Group of Companies. She has been working with v-shesh since October 2016.
Kanchan Kashyap is pursuing her Masters Degree in Psychology from IGNOU. She has completed her degree in Bachelor’s of Arts from Lakshmi Bai College, Delhi University. She is a trainer with v-shesh since April, 2016. She also does job placement consulting along with teaching sign language in the school.
Tincy Benjamin is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mumbai University. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses she got an opportunity to learn Indian Sign Language. She joined v-shesh in November 2016 as a trainer and is also working on developing the English curriculum.
Radhika Agarwal has done her Masters in Computer Applications and an Executive MBA from IIM Bangalore. She worked with Tata Consultancy Services and Patni for over 12 years before she joined v-shesh. Currently, she is based out of Mumbai and leads v-shesh’s operations for Western India.
Kanika Agarwal has a Masters in Analytical and Industrial Chemistry from Mumbai University. She wants to pursue her Ph.D and higher studies in the field of disability and help persons from disadvantaged backgrounds. It is in pursuit of this goal that Kanika joined the team in v-shesh to train Persons with Disabilities in the area of job readiness.
Sunil Bankar has a Masters in Social Work. He has received recognition and a number of awards for his work with Communities and in Security and Disaster Management services. Having 5 years of work experience with Indian Red Cross Society Maharashtra, Sunil has worked in critical projects such as Cloudburst Relief activity in Leh in August, 2010, Floods in Maharashtra in 2005-2006 and Tsunami operations in 2004-05. Sunil joined v-shesh as Center Manager for Mumbai in November, 2011 and has been instrumental in the setup and running of center activities
Raheel Farooqui is currently studying Computer Sciences at ADET (All Deaf Education Technology). She trained at the Best program conducted by v-shesh in April, 2012 and joined in as a Trainer for our collaborative program with Sanskardham School for the deaf, Goregaon. Despite her strict discipline in class, her students love her for her dedication, commitment and willingness to help. Raheel has also been instrumental in leading our project for month-end transaction processing at one of our client locations with a high level of accuracy. Her hobbies include dancing and painting.
Seema Billimoria is core member of the team building v-shesh’s services for inclusion of Persons with Disabilities at workplaces. Based in Bangalore, she leads v-shesh’s operations in Bangalore and manages important client and network relationships. She is an Arts Graduate from Calcutta University. She has an extensive cross functional experience of 20 years in The Royal Bank of Scotland (earlier ABN AMRO Bank) and ITC Limited including client relationship, portfolio management, branch banking operations, training, administrative functions.
Praveen M has completed his Master of Science – Information Technology. A trainer with v-shesh since August 2015, he has conducted various training sessions in subjects like Process Training, Business Communication, and Life Skills Program for the Hearing Impaired, Sign Language Program and Sensitisation Programs for non-deaf employees in various organizations. He also holds a prior experience of 2 years in teaching computers to the hearing impaired students in Deaf College, Kerala. The training module for the hearing impaired students includes Aptitude, Business Communication English, Presentation Skills, Business, Email, Letter Etiquettes, Computer Skills and Interview Preparation.
Vaishnavi is a graduate in commerce from Madras University and has been a trainer with v-shesh since June 2015. She is an expert in Tally (ERP 9). She has worked in KFC where she taught sign language to the employees. She has also worked with Dr. Reddy Foundation in Chennai and as a lecturer to B.Com students in Hyderabad. She has worked in the social services industry for Deaf Women since 2009.
Adam Mulpur has completed his graduation in B. Comm. He is a Sign language interpreter certified from the American Sign Language Association. He has worked with the Telangana State Federation for Deaf as a counselor and advisor in the past. In v-shesh, he has the role of a job coach trainer and interpreter for the hearing impaired and PwD.
